ChildSavers is Hiring a Program Specialist Near Richmond, VA

Program Specialist
Our Child Development Services (CDS) department is seeking a full-time Program Specialist. This role involves providing technical assistance for persons who desire to start their own in-home childcare business, assisting family and childcare center programs with technical assistance and training, and conducting classroom observations. The position has combined administrative and direct service responsibilities and operates under the general direction and supervision of the Outreach and Recruitment Supervisor.
Skills & Requirements
An appropriate degree (i.e., child development, social work, or other human services field) from an accredited school, and/or at least 3 years of professional experience providing direct services to children and their families, or any equivalent combination of related training and experience.
Must demonstrate excellent people skills, and ability to collaborate well with a diverse client population. Strong organizational skills and diligence. Experience documenting service delivery, and demonstrated ability to provide technical assistance and deliver Professional Development Training (in-person/virtual)
Knowledge surrounding and/or working in early childhood is strongly preferred.
Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license and auto insurance with an insurable driving record. Must have access to broadband service to participate in virtual meetings and facilitate virtual training and technical assistance. This is a remote position and will require travel to the Richmond office several times a year, as well as travel throughout the localities listed below.
  • Please note: This position will require regular day travel each month throughout the Southside region of Virginia, (Amherst, Lynchburg, Bedford, Pittsylvania, Danville, Appomattox, Campbell, Halifax, South Boston, Prince Edward, Charlotte, Mecklenburg, Cumberland, Amelia, Nottaway, Lunenburg, Brunswick) and occasional evening and Saturday hours. Travel could potentially be 1- 3 hours roundtrip.
Salary Range
$42,000 - $45,000
